Oki-do Yoga was developed by Dr. Masahiro Oki, who devoted his life to others through his work as a teacher, healer and writer. Okido uses a variety of traditional yoga asanas, yet focuses on core stabilization and whole body strengthening into the practice.
The poses are done in a repetitive format to help develop a strong core and to re-balance the body’s natural posture by using one’s own self awareness.
A unique part of this style of yoga is the work that is done with partners to help increase strength, flexibility and communication in a fun and challenging environment.
Hot Yoga Classes are geared towards releasing tension areas in the legs/hips and shoulders. While strengthening and balancing our core and back muscles.
Yin or Deep Stretch Classes create an ideal environment for our nervous system to truly "let go" of unneeded protective layers of tension that may be holding from habit but are needing the extra time and space to let those tight spots release. There is deep breath work and mindfulness practices used during this class that also incorporates holding some poses for a longer period of time.
Meditation guidance classes work with awareness exercises that work & open the subconscious mind. Using intuitive release therapy techniques and dream yoga teachings this form of yoga combined with meditation allows students to dive deeper into their inner workings of the body and mind connection.
Learn to listen classes are a meditation series that will re-connect you to your inner voice and ground you to what your life & body may be trying to communicate to you.
